Application: Filtration of lees (wine sediment: must deposits, fermentation and clarification residues), as well as apple and grape pulp/juices. It can also be used for wine clarification after fermentation.

Technology: Crossflow filtration with hollow fiber membranes made of PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) material.


Advantages / Specific Features

  • No filter aids required (e.g., diatomaceous earth / DE) – resulting in less labor, less waste, and a more environmentally friendly operation.
  • Closed system – minimizes oxygen exposure, helping to preserve the wine’s color, aroma, acidity, and flavor.
  • Low hold-up volume (minimal residual volume in the system) – allows processing of small quantities of lees with reduced product losses.
  • Large fiber diameter / wide pores – enables filtration even at high concentrations of suspended solids, with solids content up to ~80% at recovery.
  • Automation & software control – integrated interface allows selection of mode (pulp, wine, lees) and optimization of filtration parameters according to specific requirements.
